"Fabbrica della Bioenergia" was founded in 2011, thanks to the emblematic funding of Fondazione Cariplo and other co-funding bodies: Province of Cremona, Cremona Pole and DICA of Politecnico di Milano, Municipality and Chamber of Commerce of Cremona, ERSAF. The emblematic project ended in 2015 but the mission of Fabbrica continues.
Fabbrica's mission is to set up a study and consultancy centre able to promote and support a widespread of anaerobic digestion and respond to the needs of operators in this field: public bodies, agricultural companies, industries, builders and operators of anaerobic digestion plants, municipal and integrated water service companies, trade associations/consortia and training bodies.
Fabbrica operates through three lines of action:
- Applied research,
- university-level Services and consultancy
- training support (conferences, courses at various levels, Scientific publications).
A group of structured teachers, postdocs and research assignees make use of an experimental biochemical laboratory, pilot plants and instruments for field measurements, analysis and monitoring of plants.
